NEW MEMBERS! - North Wicklow Hockey Club are looking for new members!
If you’re interested in your daughter taking up hockey for the first time, upping her skill level or getting ready for secondary school then we can help. We offer a very high level of coaching to our members on a Sunday morning with a high ratio of coaches to kids to ensure that every child gets attention. We play some friendlies throughout the season also, which gives the girls an opportunity to use all that they have learned.
We currently have availability for members in our U8’S, U10’s,U 12’S and U14’S. The girls groups training will be on a Sunday mornings in Charlesland Sports and recreation centre. We train from 10am until 11.30am each Sunday during the school term. Our season will run from September 2012 until May 2013. ADULT HOCKEY - North Wicklow Hockey club also caters for mixed adult hockey on a Friday evening from 7pm-8.30pm, it’s on a pay as you go basis, just come along any Friday and give it a go.

Its the new 2011/2012 season -

Location: Charlesland Sport and Recreation Park, Charlesland, Greystones, Co Wicklow.
North Wicklow Hockey club was founded by Taragh Hanley and Stephen McGrath in December 2008. We are two parents who have children playing hockey outside of Wicklow and this was a concern. We saw a need to set up a new local club to facilitate the development of young local hockey players. With support from the Irish Hockey Association, North Wicklow Hockey Club was launched and had it’s first training session on Sunday the 6th December 2008.
Our coaches are all enthusiastic, qualified and currently playing senior hockey.

Botanic Tournament!
9 brave North Wicklow players took to the field in a very well organised tournament in Botanic on Sunday 3rd April. With 5 games our opposition included Pembroke, Suttonians, Mount Anville and Three Rock Rovers. The girls faced a stern test but stood their own in every game. They were unlucky not to come away with a win in any of the games having come very close in all of the games, losing by a one goal margin on a number of occasions.
The girls played some excellent hockey throughout the day and displayed great team bonding, coming up with chants before the tournament began. All we can say is roll on next year where we hope to step up that level and really push the other teams!!
